Identity Theft - The Electronic Plague

identity theft kit Every day, thousands of people are victimized by what we like to call the "electronic plague" infecting America. Victims lose their money, their good credit, their jobs, and their dignity.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America.

During the year 2002, it was estimated that 10 million people were victimized by identity theft. Projections for the year 2003 are more than 30 million.

The average victim spends over $1100 and almost 200 hours in time trying to salvage their identity after it is stolen.

Definition of Identity Theft

Identity Theft is when someone unlawfully uses your personal information to obtain credit, service, make purchases, cash checks, or apply and receive loans in your name. Don't kid yourself; you are at risk... and it is a nightmare when your identity is stolen.

Consider Clara, who went to Europe for three weeks this summer. She prepaid her bills, canceled the paper, etc. When she got home, there was mail from each of her credit card companies canceling her credit cards. As she unwound this she found that her social security number had been used to declare bankruptcy. We handled the matter for her, and it was an expensive nightmare.

Who is at Risk?

Almost every person with reasonable credit and financial strength will have their identity stolen within the next few years. Almost everybody now knows someone who has had their identity stolen.

Our everyday transactions are one of the biggest factors making us vulnerable to identity theft. We have put together an Identity Theft Vulnerability Test to help you assess your own personal risk.

Winning the Identity Theft War

Our new program, Winning The Identity Theft War, teaches you how to remove the opportunities identity thieves have to grab your identity, and it lays out what to do when you are victimized. Filled with practical, everyday steps you can use to begin using immediately.

Additional Advanced Protection Strategies
If you were walking down the street with all of your money in your purse or wallet, you lose everything when it gets taken. If you have taken part of the money out and put some of it in your front pocket and some of it in your money belt, then when your wallet gets stolen, you don't lose everything.

Winning The Identity Theft War allows you to create additional "legal pockets" to keep your assets in, dividing up your property so that it is not all at risk at the same time. The unique aspect of the program is it gives you the tools you need to create and protect new identities.
